SisterSound
SisterSound, a community women’s chorus, has been entertaining audiences throughout the Bluegrass since 1996. Their performances lift spirits and strike chords in the hearts of men and women from all walks of life. Under the direction of John Roark, Jr. (“Mister Sister”) SisterSound performs from an eclectic repertoire of a cappella and accompanied pieces. These include a range of choral styles from Broadway showtunes to African folk chants, with stops in between at jazz, pop, parodies and classical standards.
SisterSound
SisterSound members represent a 50-year age span and include students, working women, full-time moms and retirees. The group produces and performs two concerts each year. Their concerts typically include costuming, choreography, props, scenery, scripts, small group performances, instrumental accompaniment and guest artists – all thanks to the time and talents of group members.
SisterSound audiences typically come away smiling, humming and talking about songs that have touched their hearts.
