Over 250 students currently train at Bluegrass Youth Ballet. Classes run from August through May, and a variety of different summer programs take place during June and July. Students ages 5 and up have the opportunity to perform in two or three main stage ballets each year.

With an emphasis on Classical Ballet, Bluegrass Youth Ballet has performed “The Nutcracker In One Act,” “Peter and the Wolf” and “Sleeping Beauty,” as well as original works with a cultural aspect such as “Dia de los Muertos” and “Alebrijes.” Each season more than 2,500 school students attend the ballet’s performances for schools. When the opportunity arises, Bluegrass Youth Ballet also performs in community outreach events like the Festival Latino and the American Heart Association Gala.
