Michael Fogler
Michael Fogler is one of Kentucky’s premiere classical guitarists. He is well-known in this part of the country for his 30 years of outstanding solo and chamber music performances. In 1978 he became the first faculty member in guitar at the University of Kentucky. He currently teaches at Georgetown College.
A fine solo recitalist, Michael has also collaborated with many of central Kentucky’s most outstanding musicians, including a number of university faculty, the Lexington Chamber Chorale, Paragon Musical Theater, the Lexington Guitar Trio and the outstanding Lexington Philharmonic flutist, Merrilee Elliott.
Recently, with partial funding from an Individual Artist Product Development Grant through the Kentucky Arts Council, Michael produced a CD called “Dance — A Variety of Dance Music for Guitar Solo and Flute & Guitar Duo.”
A versatile musician, Michael offers solo concerts and performances with the Elliott-Fogler Flute & Guitar Duo. His programming always includes first-rate music with fascinating commentary.
