Lorinda Jones

Performing on traditional hand-crafted instruments, Lorinda Jones brings the Irish harp and mountain dulcimer to the audience in a way that is both visually and aurally appealing. Her music begins with the ancient repertoire of Scotland and Ireland, continues through the traditional old-time music of the Appalachians and includes current instrumental folk music. With an appeal to all ages, her performances have been described as having “historic charm.”

Utilizing her background in both music education and music therapy, Lorinda presents a program that is informative, interactive and engaging. With the flexibility of working solo or with other traditional musicians, Lorinda offers a variety of performance packages that suit the size of the stage and pocketbook.

Lorinda has performed across the United States and taught at traditional music camps including Augusta Heritage Week in West Virginia, Swannanoa Gathering and John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina and Kentucky Music Weekend in Bardstown.

Her instructional materials are published by Mel Bay Publications (www.melbay.com) and her CDs are available for sale or download on CDBaby (http://cdbaby.com/cd/lorindajones) and her own website (www.lorindajones.com).
