In February 2008, the
nations attention will focus on Kentucky, the birthplace and boyhood home
of Abraham Lincoln, as we begin a two-year celebration of the 200th anniversary
of his birth. Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 12,
1809, and Kentucky is leading the national bicentennial celebration. The
Kentucky Arts Council will be participating in the many activities, events, and
celebrations taking place from February 2008 when the official national public
Bicentennial Commemoration launches, through 2010.
Grant cycles will
continue through February 2010.
