Join National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Conductor Hugh Wolff and NSO Executive Director Rita Shapiro for a forum at the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center to discuss arts advocacy and the role the arts can play in communities. The forum will be moderated by Kentucky Arts Council Executive Director Lori Meadows.

Kentucky is hosting the National Symphony Orchestra's 2011 American Residencies tour
Feb. 17 – 25. During the visit, the orchestra will perform major concerts in Louisville, Florence, Owensboro, Paducah, Lexington and Somerset. Additionally, members of the orchestra will travel to 35 Kentucky communities to participate in more than 130 educational, outreach and performance activities in 66 venues.
The National Symphony Orchestra American Residencies is a unique national initiative encompassing the elements of education, outreach and chamber and orchestral performances. American Residencies are sponsored in part by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
