Developing a Community Theatre Network in Eastern Kentucky. If you are involved with community theatre in Eastern Kentucky, you are invited to participate in an exciting effort to build a network of community theatres in Eastern Kentucky. We hope to develop opportunities for community theatre groups to perform in one another's communities and to share resources and ideas. We will discuss how such a network might be structured and how we might obtain funding for the network through a grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts.

Co-sponsored by the Kentucky Arts Council, The Center for Rural Development, and UK Cooperative Extension Service.

Registration fee: $15.00 will cover the cost of lunch and refreshment breaks

Publishing Options Workshop
Wondering about your publishing options? Are you a writer or organization who wants to know more about how to get your work published in a book or a magazine? This workshop will take a close look at self-publishing possibilities, the ins and outs of working with a small press, and how to sell your work to magazines and as work-for-hire. You will learn about copyright considerations, ranges of royalties and fees, how to obtain ISBN numbers, barcodes and Library of Congress numbers. You’ll learn how to approach publishers, and get a feel for graphics requirements, logistics and planning, and tips for promotions. Presenters for this workshop are Paula Cunningham and Michelle Stone of McClanahan Publishing, Kuttawa, Kentucky; Brenda and T.J. Flynn, Community Scholars and owners of Doodles Studio and Gallery, Flemingsburg, Kentucky; and Judy Sizemore, freelance writer and Regional Outreach Director for the Kentucky Arts Council.
